“You will love it!”

This book was truly special. . . . The story was told through the eyes of a little girl named Julia, whose mother died when she was only six years old. . . . Julia was in a sense left on her own to try to understand her mother's death. Seemingly typical of the times, Julia's father and the adults around her didn't talk about Julia's mother's illness or her about her death when she finally died. So Julia is left to try to understand her mother's illness and ultimate death on her own - through the limited eyes and heart of a six-year-old child. Carol Japha was incredibly perceptive and so aptly portrayed waht Julia was experiencing - from Julia as a little girl who used her dolls to act out her emotions to Julia slowly growing up and listening to her father and his concrete teachings about maps. . . . I can't say enough about this special little book. Read it for yourself. You will love it!
